PS. This build was originally going to be the same except for SB 2500k, Asus Sabertooth TUF P67 mobo, and two 460 in sli. but due to money constraints and callbacks i went with the 965 BE to use for now. I'll be waiting for the IvyBridge now, and ill add another 1 or 2 460s for sli or tri sli. ill also try to get to 4x WD blacks in raid for media and 2x SSD in raid for boot and programs.
Advice on compatibility, pricing, upgrading, future prospects, and overclocking is welcome.
ok um why do you have 2 power supplies?
if you are worried about power just get the cheapest 1000w 80plus gold psu u can get
that motherboard DOES NOT support SLi so i suggest goin with something on the AMD side of graphics cards. Get the 6850. it's about same as GTX 460. i would suggest 6870 for crossfiring though
for overclocking, buy a nice CPU cooler. go to
frostytech.com
and look @ top 5 charts for AMD. buy the # 1 or #2 cooler and then you can overclock really nice
save some money on SSD's and get a better graphics card. u said u wanted 4 total hard drives and 2 ssd's....i personally hate boot drives and media drives cuz windows7 defaults everything to the boot drive. 3-4 hard drives is about the same performance as one SSD. dont get the 500gb version but rather get 6 320GB hard drives (max hard drive size for boot is 2TB on windows 7) and hook em up in RAID0 (im not sure if it supports that many drives on your motherboard but it has enough ports to)
